Catch Up

I’m pretty sure I always start these with, “It’s been a while” or something like that so I won’t do that this time. I’ve been on a bit of a hiatus, but I’m back.

The anniversary of the blog was almost a month ago October 29th. I had a big thing planned where I would give some commentary on past blog posts or something like that. Kind of like a behind the scenes for each one but I chose not to. October this year was a year long and it wasn’t good. I felt like Bill Murray in Groundhog Day, living the same day over and over again. I ran out of juice. Which is sad because I was really looking forward to October but it ended up passing like mild weather.

However, I do want to say that I am proud of the blog and the story that I’ve made for myself so far. Because that’s really what this blog is, it’s the story of me. I have said this before, but there’s been times where I’ve wanted to let this thing die out and just disappear, but I can’t because there’s still more to tell. I also pay to keep this up so might as well use it.

Since we’re over halfway through November already I’ll start at the beginning. The first week went well. I went out for ramen with someone special to me. She’s made herself a nice home inside my head. It’s not a bad thing I suppose as I do enjoy her company and I always find myself thinking about her and wanting to spend time with her, she is a 10/10. Nevertheless, ramen was fantastic as you can guess, it was kind of chilly out so it was a perfect meal to have and who doesn’t love ramen, the soft boiled egg is her favorite part; I wrote that in my notes right after.

Second to that, I’ve been busy with school this month. It’s really picked up but I’m pretty much near the finish line so it makes sense. There’s not really much to say about school other than I’m hanging in there. It’s really not as bad as I make it out to be but I also don’t let myself get stressed. That’s a MAJOR key. Which leads into something interesting and I guess philosophical I read in a book. It’s just a small part of the book, but it pretty much says that when something happens to you whether it be good or bad, in your favor or not, just take it as it is. DO NOT try to reason it because that’s when reasoning leads to judgement and judgement leads to deciding if what happened was good or bad and if it’s something that hurt you then you will feel pain. By just taking something as it is there’s nothing more to it, it is what it is, whether it be good or bad, I don’t care and I won’t try to reason it, because if I do I will judge it and determine if it’s good or bad for me and that leads to pain.

Onto music and movies, Gallant released his sophomore album and it is a banger. If you have never listened to any of his music or heard of him at all, please give him a listen, I don’t think you will be disappointed. My favorite songs from the album are Céline, Sweet Insomnia, and Hips. There hasn’t been a lot of music to drop recently that I’ve liked but Gallant is slept on so check him out.

On to movies, the Joker movie was something I enjoyed watching. It’s different from Heath Ledger’s Joker for sure but they are both each their own thing and you have to see them for what they are. This one was about change and I suppose the duality of man. How someone good turns bad. The soundtrack for the movie was phenomenal and the cinematography was also up there. The visuals for the movie were jarring, they did an excellent job capturing the intensity and feel of the movie. I don’t know if it was just me, but I definitely felt myself tense up while watching parts of it. It is a powerful film and in my opinion one of the best of the year.

El Camino also premiered on Netflix. If you don’t know I am a big Breaking Bad fan and the movie was a fitting end for Jessie. He was put through hell in the original series so seeing him end on a good note, happy with where he’s headed and what he’s done was fitting, it was a true zero to hero moment. Some of my favorite scenes of the movie include the ones where Jessie is replaying the times he spent with his girlfriend, Jane, they were cute, and the dynamic they share is perfect, he’s clueless but she gives him sense, he lives for her. I also hold Vince Gilligan, the writer, director, and overall mastermind behind the Breaking Bad universe in high regard. He’s a genius writer and story teller and the cinematography in all of his works is brilliant. If you haven’t seen Breaking Bad or any of Vince Gilligan’s work I would give it a shot.

Thanksgiving is less than a week away and I’m not ridiculously excited about it. It hasn’t been a big ordeal in my family for a long time. There’s no friendsgiving for my friends and I this year, I didn’t bring it up and no one else did so that’s that. We’ve kind of all been doing our own thing lately and that’s okay. I’m more of a Christmas person anyways. I haven’t started shopping or buying gifts for anyone yet but I’ll start soon because the last two months of the year are always blur.

This was a big one so if you actually read all this you’re awesome. Thank you and I hope you’re doing well; much love.

I’ll have something up early December if all is well. Keep moving forward.
